Well... it's just that I'm really attached to the characters from the original series. And this book makes them less awesome. It's just a bad, awkward world expansion.
Ahhhhhhh. Well, I kind of want to read it anyway, out of morbid curiosity. We should get together sometime and I can swap you Runaways for The Lost Hero.
As a stand-alone book, it's good. Better than Red Pyramid and Sea of Monsters but worse than the other PJO books.
But, okay. I'm really attached to the crew of the last series, and I just don't like what happened to them in this book. Rachel got some good page time! Annabeth was decent but kind of bland throughout. Your mileage may vary on Thalia. But everyone else, ugh.
Oooh, okay. :|a I still need to get it and read it, but knowing that the original crew doesn't have the best showing in the book makes me sad. I love the original crew so much.
Yeah. I'm betting the next book will bring people back more, but I don't know if another Kane book is coming out before the next Heroes of Olympus story, ugh.
I feel like my squee for this book is probably going to be hampered by my utter rage at the fact that my favorite characters and their futures are probably going to be nothing like I've imagined them to be in the last year.
WISH WAL-MART WOULD STOCK THEIR DAMN BOOK SECTION ALREADY THOUGH
