Not kidding about fleeing Facebook for the greener, if under-fertilized pastures of Live Journal. Yes, I know my last post happened some time in 2010. Cannot promise to be overwhelmingly prolific, but plan to visit once a week. Add me and I'll try to remember how to add you back if I know who the heck you are.

I still have a ton of friends on LJ, oddly enough, so I check it at least every few days. heh.

I have to admit, I'm wondering where I found all the time to write mega-posts. And I think I'm going to miss the instant crowdsourcing built into the Facebook framework. It will take time to rebuilt any sort of instant community here I think. But I'm willing to try.

I've been drifting back weekly, seeing if things are still moving here.

I feel like Facebook has done nothing but bring out the worst in social media, and I'm not even sure what or where I would write or share anymore.

I suppose the upside is that it's gone full circle and encouraged me to make more time to see people in real life.

They're moving. Slowly, but they're moving.

Facebook of the last year definitely. It's so easy for people to forget themselves and forget that this is the real world and that the things they say have consequences.

I agree that it's motivating me to try to actually SEE people again, but it's also motivating others to be angry at me that I don't know everything that goes on in their lives. I wonder how many of my close friends don't realize that Facebook likes to show me people that I went to high school with more than people who I think about daily.
