I'm going to go with A as well. You probably don't want to risk cooking the engine in option B, since Murphy's Law will have you jammed in traffic for hours in 100 degree weather if you go with that.
Sorry, been watching waaay too many Guy Ritchie movies lately. A seems like the best bet. Having lived through car troubles (and currently living through them), the problems only get worse if you ignore them. It's best to take care of them as soon as you can.
And in this case, "as soon as you can" does not mean "do it now right now," it means "as soon as you can." If you can't afford it, then you can't. But from the sounds of it you could theoretically do it. It may mean 11 days of ramen noodles, but that's better than an even more inflated repair cost in a few months.
