I wonder -- because I am not quite queer enough?

1. What does the 2 in LGBTT2IQQA stand for?

2. If someone is on leave because her partner is having a baby any second now -- is that still maternity leave? Won't saying "she's on maternity leave" make people think she physically just had a baby? That's what I think, but I'm not sure what else to call it.

Sometimes the 2 has to do with Two spirit. . .

Maybe you can say she's on parenting leave? Baby leave? Yeah, I'm having a problem there too.

why exactly is this cultural appropriation? putting the term in the (exceedingly long) acronym doesn't necessarily mean that it's been co-opted by random people, just that it's being recognized as a legit term that some queer native american folks use to identify themselves.

My "cultural appropriation" comment wasn't about the term being included in the acronym per se, but about my observation on how the term has been used/appropriated within the LGBTQ[etc] community.

I would agree with two spirit except that usual I've seen it as TS (which, clearly, could also be Transexual)

Must be two-spirit since there are already two Ts here.

I think the people who use versions of that acronym with 2 in it mean it to stand for two-spirit.

But to me it stands for "oh my god this acronym is 2 fucking long."
