I got caught in a rainstorm coming back from noon Mass today. At district court this morning there's a hearing that I'm really excited to see. One of the former attorneys at my office is Steve Singer, a Loyola law professor who has taken over the public defender's office. Today he's being charged with contempt of court. I went through this phase from 3rd to 5th grades where I'd read every John Grisham book I could find. I was going down to California at least twice a year then, for baseball, summer vacations, any excuse really, and I'd read the entire time.
