... in m/m stories.
Okay, so everyone reading this likely knows what I read (and write), so it should come as no shock to anyone that I have certain things that just irk me or make me go "ewwwwwwww" when reading them.
I'm putting this under a cut because I feel like it. *grins*

Also, the name Clint, lol. It's my Dad's name and I just can't get past it in either het or m/m stories. I really, really don't want images of my Dad in my head when I'm reading erotica.

Kidding. *hee* But I agree on the water-sports. ICK! And let's not even mention scat-play. *shudders*
I'm not that adventurous in my reading, writing or RL.

But all the others, oh yes.
And I loathe reading the term 'breeder' referring to heterosexuals. Without 'breeders', no-one would be here.
And HAPPY NEW YEAR to you too. xxx ♥

I agree 'breeder' is somewhat rude. I've actually used this word in this manner exactly once and even when I was typing it I was questioning it. *hee*
You know this post wasn't directed at anyone personally. Just a general thing. As always, there are exceptions. For SOME of it. :P

I also get pulled out of a story when the terminology is too technical: Penis or anus are two words I'd rather not have in a sex scene.
I once read a story where there was a scene of felching followed by snowballing which made me gag. Felching makes me want to wash my mouth out with bleach. Fortunately it's not used too much in m/m sex scenes and I try to avoid the authors who have it as standard in their books.
Great set of thoughts Tis.
Happy New Year to you!

Yeah, I can see where that whole felching then snowballing would be nausea-inducing. Hell, I'm queasy just thinking about it. *makes face*
I guess I've been lucky because I've only come across it a time or two. Just enough to know it's not my kink. LOL

Everyone has likes and dislikes, but that's what makes one writer's style different to the next. If we all wrote about the same types of men, using the same types of language, then it would get pretty boring fairly quickly.

You're right. *nods* And I don't mean to imply that nobody should write things that bother/irk/squick me. Some authors do very well with themes and acts I don't particularly care for. I guess what I was trying to say is that I like a happy medium. Nothing overly clinical or icky... which are entirely subjective things, really. LOL
