I do not know what the purpose of shocking a person for not using this device is.

It is not that I don't appreciate a communicator's capabilities, but if I want to speak to someone, I much prefer to go to them in person.

Perhaps I should start publishing haiku.

The scientists work in strange ways.

... Haiku?

Ah yes, that they do.

Haiku - a form of poetry. Quite a beloved art in my country.

Is that so? If it's not too much trouble, might I hear an example?

Where else would I be?

It's good to see - hear you again. How are things back in the Nations?

Well, I hadn't heard from you!

Uh. Well, the time I came from..not so good still. The attack on the Northern Water Tribe ended a few days before I arrived here. But Zuko told me what happened between then and the time he's from..

If you did, I would make a point to read them when you did.

Haha, well then, if I already have an audience, I suppose I must follow up on my word. We'll see how well this city lends itself to poetic expression.

I'm sure there are more than you think who might appreciate it.

Ah yes, a devotee of the arts hides within many a rude exterior. The nature of poetry is to touch many hearts, more than the poet perhaps believes.

Well, the scientists don't seem to appreciate things being done the old fashioned way. They can't quite keep their watch on us that way;

Having some haiku to read, on the other hand, would be very much welcome~!

Ah yes, if the scientists would like to monitor us, perhaps they too would appreciate a little bit of literary adventurousness. I will see how well this city lends itself to poetic expression!

Getting the scientists to appreciate haiku, huh? Well, you might be up to something here~!

Perhaps they already do. We might find some common ground.
