So, I received a wedding invite today.  Yeah, it's for a wedding this Sunday.  Wha?!!?

I knew my cousin was planning on marrying his fiance the weekend before Halloween but I assumed the plans were pushed back when I didn't hear anything.  But today we got the invitation and according to my other cousins, they all got theirs today or haven't gotten ( Read more... )

Tacky with an incredibly bold and capital T! I couldn't stop laughing when I read it and Brad couldn't figure out what was so funny until I showed him the invitation.

Wowzers. No words except to each their own! I'd skip it and send a gift. They can't possible expect that many guests three days out! :) Thanks for sharing the funny!

I'm kind of thinking that might be the plan too... no one will be able to come because of short notice but the gift cards will flow in through the mail because that's just what people usually do when they receive an invite. Beats me though.

Maybe she's just a really, really rushed stressed out bride that has no help? Or that she left this chore up to someone and they really let her down?

Yes, tacky and I'd snark too, but I also remember how frantic I was to get out the invitations - late, myself! :)

but that poem...ew! I received a gorgeously designed invitation with matching cards and creative from two good friends - who also included registry info. What a turn off! So close, but so far. And your cousins... so much further. Still, family is family. I'd go, plaster a smile, check out the wedding to see if this is just a foreshadowing, and do a nice hardware store gift card.

Oh it's not a rushed invite thing... they've been talking about this wedding for over a year now. I think it's more of a lack of planning ahead thing because when they were talking to me about it a few months ago I suggested they get the invites out at least 6 weeks ahead of time and they laughed. Ah well. :o) I also emailed a few weeks ago to see if the wedding date was still planned for the 28th and got a "Um, I think so but maybe not." (that's a quote too)

They're just goofy. ;o)

Between the glue and the tape it honestly looks like something I could have had my second graders assemble. I feel really mean saying that but it's absolutely true. ;o)
