I'm reading a trashy little pulp novel from 1970 called The Devil on Lammas Night. It involves sketchy Satanism mixed with your typical hippy nonsense. Kind of like Rosemary's Baby meets Valley of the Dolls. But every now and then it offers up some little jewel. I'm currently reading a book called Blood Work, which focuses on a rather brief period in the early history of blood transfusion and how some young punk named Denis brought it all to a halt for over 150 years because he got the bright idea of strapping some poor mentally handicapped kid to a table and decided to pump him full of cow's blood. Blargh.
I'm so tired, but I can't get to sleep! I've been stuck in a sneaky hate spiral all day today. I had to get up at the crack of dawn and run errands even though it was about a million degrees outside.
