Teague the wounded and Flyte the coming along....

Nov 03, 2013 09:42

On my quest to communicate more with my friends, here comes another one!

Teague came home from Central Point wounded, yup, wounded. DAMN IT! He started limping getting out of his kennel on Saturday, but walked it right off, so, okay, I'll run him - He dropped bars so over to get a massage. He did not really want to extend his right leg back and ( Read more... )

Oh man, Teague, poor buddy. I think sometimes when we hurt stuff... rest is the ticket. I hope it works for him. Sometimes works for me!

Flyte is doing great! You've got to realize that you've only started having rules and expectations from her since her injury. Think of her more like a re-home/rescue dog... how much would you be expecting?

Ha Rosie - I tell myself that all the time - she is a like a feral rescue puppy. Though she does have LOTS of great behaviors too, they just aren't what I focus on - of course. I should make a list of what she does that I love - that would be a good thing. she does step on a human trachea like nobodies business :) It's a finally honed skill she's developed.

Oh baby! If we get her together with the Ovary Puncher, they'd be unstoppable!

Great advice - I am trying these things out - I want to do some nosework with her - I think she'll excel at it - she loves her nose :) I think keeping it really fun is the key - so even the agility training stuff is short short short and high fun. If it's not fun, we're not doing it - she has had too long of lockdown. It's cool to see her really wanting to go play/train in the backyard - she is all about lets go outside mom! So, I'm taking that.

She's a pretty nice little hiking buddy - if we hide, she comes racing back to find us - which is lovely. Gina is hiking with her soon, actually. I have a cold and need to lay low.

Sending good thoughts for Teague, I hope it's nothing serious and he just needs some rest!

so now he just got up and was totally holding his left back leg up and then limping on it. His spine looked good on xrays so..... what up!!!

I hope that Teague's condition is mild and easily handled. It will not help Flyte's feralness and naughtiness if Teague is now confined for any length of time and she becomes all high-and-mighty and lords it over him. Teenagers are like that, if Friday is an example. (Friday is an example of many things impish.)

Hang in there!

egads. that's ahorrible image. No, TEague still tells her off, which is great. And Friday is an imp extraordinaire - go imps!

Sounds like an ACL strain. My BC Rift just got over one. Took 4 months off agility.

that's what Im worried about - not the time off, but HIM. Poor boy, and right now no running at all. Can we say AHHHHH.

How did you know it was a strain and how did you see where he was in recovery? Teague isn't limping walking or anything, or trotting. So, it's after he does agility that he's lame... so how did you test for healing? thanks, jle
