I found out way too slowly when I moved to Tulsa that sarcasm is not a brand of humor that is necessarily good to use here because everyone takes you too seriously when you're just kidding. In connecting with friends from back home via FaceBook, I've come to miss it a little. They're constantly bantering back and forth with each other there and it's hilarious. You just have to be careful not to cross the line into being mean and you have to be sure to kid someone about something that is also your own problem. There are some unwritten rules there that keep it fun and doesn't hurt people's feelings.
