More often than not, Rahne still finds herself bored here, the pace of island life far slower than what she's grown accustomed to. It isn't anything she's looking to change, either; infuriating though it frequently is, she has no desire to want to settle, has found instead ways to keep herself moving. The island's gift of a bike back in January ( Read more... )

"Oh, it's alright."

Taking a small step back, she felt the counter against her back and smiled just a bit at it. It was real and solid and so was she. It wasn't just a bit of psychic ghost powers on the fritz. It was real which made it better. Give a little way of her hands in the direction of the fridge Annie shrugged her shoulders.

"Um, I don't know. There's just so much to choose from that I can't make up my mind on anything." Laughing she pulled nervously at the hem of her tee shirt. "That's funny isn't it?"

"Aye, it is, a bit," Rahne replies with a laugh, any contriteness fading almost immediately. She wouldn't have thought it a big deal, but even with people around here so overwhelmingly nice all of the time, there's still no way to tell for sure when someone might just be in a bad mood. Taking one more look around, she shuts the fridge, figuring she'll get back to it when she makes up her own mind. "Most people would say there isn't enough to choose from, though I suppose ye've got a point. I still miss takeout, myself."

"Oh yeah. A nice Indian takeaway with a few kebabs and some lamb tandoori."

Letting out a wistful sigh, Annie pressed her palms against the counter and nodded at the memory. There had been many nights, with Owen and the few men before him where they had stayed in with takeaway and a movie and just played domestic for a while.

It almost ruined it, but the idea of even the possibility of eating a nice curry swiped it away. "Well, most people weren't dead for years before they got here. That makes a little a lot any day."

The mention is so casual that, for a moment, Rahne almost doesn't process it at all, already beginning to nod in agreement. It hits her after a second, though, and immediately her eyes widen, lips parting a little as she leans back against the fridge, distantly grateful that she'd already closed it.

"Hell of an introduction," she says with a slight huff of air, not quite a laugh, because being dead isn't a funny subject in the slightest. She gets the impression that it isn't something to make too big a deal out of, since she clearly isn't. "S'a good point, though. I imagine that would make all the difference."
