Honestly, I've seen a couple on the yahoo group who were in their 50's.

Oh I'd believe that in a heartbeat. I'm sure there are people around LJ that are of an age and still actively in fandom.

I think some of the oldest ones I've seen are more in the HP gen-fic end of things. Lots of us old ladies there.

SAME! I was thinking: "Okay, who in fandom wrote this, and do I talk to them on a regular basis?"

It was me, and the most shameful thing is, I lied about my age.

*guffaws*

Just kidding!

I am far enough past 35 that I find that even more amusing.

I think age in fandom is at least more expected in HP fandom. Those of us over 40 (over 30, over 20) are getting a lot of flack for being in TW fandom. *grumbles*

I will still be here, and will still be writing m/m porn, after I'm fifty... probably after I'm sixty... probably when I'm freakin' 90. Why not??

:)

I think it's so odd that TW fandom people give flack for age. Like because you're a certain age, you can't like something. WTF ever.

And you keep writing. ALWAYS KEEP WRITING!

I think it's because teens can't conceive of the idea that adults can still relate to what they are going through. That we remember it all too vividly (I swear, the teenage years leave us with PTSD) and that we still love coming-of-age stories. There is a reason YA fiction is so popular with pre-teens, teens, and adults... it resonates with so much more heart than so many other things.

I will always keep writing. It's like breathing.
