That said, you know how much I love this story (you should, because I remember telling you once upon a time in AIM), and I remember when I first read it, back on ff.net what feels like forever ago. The reread is worth it, despite the fact that I've read it again and again, and chapter two is going to be worth it, too.
I love how you tie the tales together. A simple comment, yes, but this story is one that I fully adore.
... I hope you post chapter two before I leave on my mini-vacation. Heh.

This was lovely, and very heart-breaking. I always loved Merry's moment of waking after the Barrow-wight incident. I am delighted that you have followed through with this, and created a lovely enhancement to my favorite adventure. I particularly like how Pippin, Merry, and Frodo all show growth in this one small segment. An engaging and thought-provoking read. Thank you.
