faced with kerry vs. bush, they'll vote bush, so i want to smear the blood on them, too. it's nothing personal. but screw their delusion! you can't just make up new kinds of conservatives! next thing you know i'll be labelled conservative. i balance my checkbook and i'm a Democrat!
Perhaps I am being too much of an idealist, but I am always looking for common ground. I feel like we (the nation) do better when we find things to agree on. By understanding what are shared beliefs are instead of always focusing on where we disagree (which is important too), we can try to figure out what is in our “national interest.”
As for Bush vs. Kerry, I really think Kerry did not inspire confidence with his whole I voted to grant Bush the power to authorize war, but now I am against it. I understand the subtleties of his argument, but when people are scared they want certainty and subtleties, well subtleties don’t really scream certainty.
So you're saying Democrats should have fixated on something nonsensical that Bush had said. And you may be right. I'm tired of Democrats taking smear sitting down. Smear back against those filthy crooks.
Well, yes we should fight fire with fire. Karl Rove says things like “If Al Qaeda is calling someone in America, it is in our national security interest to know who they are calling and why. Some important democrats clearly disagree. “ in response to Democrats who question the NSA illegal eavesdropping. And more recently, in response to Feingold’s motion to censure the President for his authorization of NSA eavesdropping, Frist said “Senator Feingold's time would be better spent putting forth constructive ideas rather than using cheap political tricks that compromise America's national security by sending a dangerous signal of disunity around the globe
