This might be inappropriate or unwelcome given how long I've been gone and given the nature of my absence in general, but after suddenly feeling compelled to wander back to twitter tonight specifically after months of inactivity, and it being the same night that you post your goodbye from the fandom writing community, I feel I ought to write somethingIt's shocking to see you leave the community where I first met you, but I want you to know that I, despite my being an absolutely terrible friend (and at this point it's a stretch for me to use the term at all, I know), want to see you off warmly; I hope that you will be well, and that even if you may not be now, that the day will come when you are. I've never spoken to you or been anything you can call a friend, but I feel terrible about your experience in dealing with some other immature individuals. It's terrible sad that you're leaving the fandom, and I will miss your presence and your works, but also I hope that you take the time to sort through your issues and focus on being functional and well. Encouragement is sometimes all we can do to help and those who care truly do not want to see you suffer. I hope that you do also find a solution, because even if you are pretending keep in mind that it is also a coping mechanism.

Please remember to take care of yourself and to put your needs above the needs of others.

Hey Ted, I'm not sure if I got my LJ account early enough to ever comment when I read your fics, but I seriously appreciate your presence in this fandom. You've written some of my favorite fics, and you're one of the few writers I've seen include representation of non-cis gender identities, and tbh I've thought about that a lot. So thank you so much for bringing some diversity to the fandom, and I hope you'll keep writing in the future (not necessarily for a fandom, obviously), because you're genuinely really, really good at it.
