My third fanmix tribute to Jenna Hilary Sinclair's spectacular fan fiction novel, "Somebody New"Note: Download files include CD covers

Hi Helen, great to hear from you - I hope you're doing well. Are you in Wales still? I've been wondering for a long time about your interesting icon pic - may I ask what that represents? I'm getting the impression that he is perhaps an american indian?
Wales? LOL. No, I was only in Wales for two days. *grin* I'm currently in Wyoming, was in Texas last week preceded by Arizona and california. I'll be in Calgary for a few days starting Monday, then on to Wisconsin, where one of my stories is set, to do a bit of research.
About my icon...if you go to my journal profile page you'll find some song lyrics. I went off to search for a pic that went with them and came across a bigger version of my icon pic. It is actually a Chinese warrior from a film called Warrior (I think, I can't quite remember). Everyone thinks it is an Amerindian pic, but really it is just a representation of any kind of warrior. :) Thanks for asking :)
I really can't wait to listen to this new mix; I have the first two on my ipod with me, wlthough I admit that Jim Reeves ain't my fave!!! LOL
Tom! I saw this last night but you only had one of the 2 CD's available for download, so I downloaded that one, and am now off to download the other. A third songmix - fabulous news. I cannot WAIT to listen to it - I have your second songmix on as I'm writing this, so I know this third one will be fabulous too. Thank you so much!!
Thanks Linda - I noticed a problem with the covers after I had uploaded the files last night, and since the music files and covers were combined this time around, I temporarily removed the download file to fix that (the music tracks are unaffected). Since I made the covers before I actually compiled the playlist in iTunes, I had enumerated the CD2 back cover with tracks 16 through 30. Unfortunately I was unable to get iTunes to cooperate with re-numbering the tracks and had to settle for 1 through 15. I corrected the CD2 back cover that you see on my journal post, so you can just save that. I'm downloading a corrected zip file as I write this. That will teach me to do these things in the wee hours of the morning! Boy, your enthusiasm is so appreciated! Hugz!

Friend: This is wonderful, what you have done!! Jenna had been mentioning these, but I didn't exactly get the whole deal. So finally I came here. This is so cool, I can't wait to download -- and I thank you so much for your labor of love! Especially even with the gorgeous covers! You are the man!
Would it be appropriate to ask you some rather "dumb" questions here? I'll ask them anyway, and you don't have to answer if you can't take the time. I'll find out from someone. I've downloaded a lot of stuff, but actually have never downloaded music. I don't guess it's any different than downloading anything, such as videos, which I've done a lot of, BBM of course. Are these zipped files? Should I download onto my hard drive first, and then copy them onto a CD? Can one download directly onto a CD? Or does that take too long, or what?

Thank you for your lovely comments! Your questions are very welcome. I've seen your other comment that indicates you may have already figured out what you need to do to get these files downloaded and playing for you. You shouldn't have difficulty listening to these on your computer with a media player like Winamp or iTunes after you have unzipped the files into folders. If you make cds, unless you have mp3 capable cd/dvd players in your home or car you may need to convert the mp3 files to audio files so they will play in standard cd players. Fanmixes 1 and 2 were large zip files, and if you make audio cds you will need to split the files onto two cds each - otherwise they would be too large to fit on one standard audio cd. Fanmix 3 was made into two smaller zip files so that each should fit on an audio cd. MP3 cds should not be a problem - you can get all of them plus more on one cd! I sure hope you like them!
Wow, this is such a great soundtrack to the story. I'm loving it. I'm so happy that I discovered Jenna's fic in time before it gets deleted now. Your mix will be a wonderful (if bittersweet) reminder of it... Thanks!
Thank you so much for commenting today, as you lifted my spirits considerably! I am simply devastated by what has happened to Jenna and pray for the best possible outcome to whatever may be the cause. Just so you know, Jenna (she is such a sweetheart) told me her favorite of all of the four fanmixes I put together was CD2 of 'Two Cowboy Waltz'. Many people liked the very first one I did best of all. If you have the opportunity (and the time and ability to download!), give em a listen.
I don't even pretend to know what is going on with Jenna and this whole debacle as I just stumbled upon her story a week ago or so (and subsequently literally spent nights up reading). But I was impatiently looking forward to the next chapter, which, apparently will never happen, now. What a loss to this fandom! She really is one of the most gifted writers we have and I never even got to let her now my appreciation.
Anyway, I just downloaded a couple more of your mixes (including CD2) and will upload them on my ipod to be able to bask in the Somebody New spirit a little bit longer...
Hello, I'm sorry to be bothering you as a stranger that appeared out of the blue, but I just stumbled upon a rec for Jenna's story and have already seen how well loved it is. Of course I found it was deleted, and I was wondering if you or anyone you know might have had it saved somewhere? Or knew another place to find it? I have no idea what happened, and if sharing it is even possible, but I promise I merely want to experience what so many are talking about.

You'll need to scroll back to check previous journal entries where the chapters of the novel are available.
