How to get from

Okay here comes part 2 of my tutorial marathon, I really hope that you enjoyed part 1,
and in case that you missed it. Part 1

It took me some time to figure out the Colorings because you guise chose exactly the icons where I lost the psd or simply never saved it.
But happily I could recreate most of them, sadly I couldn´t recreate two requested by lfcgermany because those icons had soo many different textures and layers and I have no idea how to get them again.

I already recreated the psd´s of all the tutorials that I will do, so I just need to write them down.
Hopefully I will be able to post another one tomorrow.

Comment for the .psd! I have it uploaded already but I haven´t posted it in the psd thread yet.

Tutorial #3

Okay let´s start with how to get from

from this batch
( picture is resized - real size is here )

requested by summer_lie & rolandcl & kind of lfcgermany
because it´s almost the same coloring like on this icon

We start with

(isn´t it a totes pretty picture?)

Step 1: I wanted the green around the girl to stand out more so I took the color #3f480e
and painted around the girl ( no need to be exact )
Then I set the layer mode to Color Dodge ( Opacity 50% )

Step 2: A new Fill layer with the color #3f480e set to screen ( Opacity 28% )

Step 3: Selective Coloring
Reds: -34 ; +17 ; +38 ; +32
Yellows: -19 ; +7 ; -42 ; -2
Greens: +100 ; 0 ; -100; +100
Whites: +100 ; -3 ; -10 ; -16
Neutrals: +16 ; +6 ; +6 ; +4
Blacks: +10 ; -1 ; +10 ; -4

Her face looks wayy to red here now, but we will fix this in the next step

Step 4: Color Balance
Shadows; +24, -5, -6
Midtones; -34, +10, +6
Hightlights; -8, +13, +10

Step 5: Now it still looked too colored to me so I decided to duplicate the original layer,
dragged it on top and decreased the Opacity to 30%

Step 6: I wanted some light effects, so I chose a dark grey color, made a new blank layer
and made some slodges over her hair and set the layer to lighten.
( You have to use a big brush with 0% hardness )

Step 7: I wanted to bring out the colors a bit more so I went to make a new Hue / Saturation Layer with the following settings:

Master: Saturation +42
Reds: Saturation -34
Yellows: Saturation -26

And you are done !!!
