I know this is that wonderful time of year when people in relationships say how unnecessary the holiday is, and people that are single express how depressed/pissed off they are that they don't have anyone to have sex with, or at times try to convince people that they really aren't depressed/pissed off that they don't have anyone to have sex with.

I am constantly amazed at how much people think/feel/invest in valentine's day. My bf and I had our first real one this year (we weren't quite there yet last year) and he worked (also restaurant) and so I went to a basketball game and then out at night and he met up with me. We went and had dinner last night and neither of us really made a big fuss. I think we were satisfactorily somewhat indifferent to valentine's day.
