Life is funny. Just when you think you're in a rut, you're thrown a fastball to put things in perspective. I've been so tired and busy. My job requires me to rise at 4:30ish every morning to beat the traffic and be on time. Then when I'm home and I've had my nap, I'm helping Foreign Boyfriend through the law school process. I'm knackered.

I arrived at Harlingen today and settled into my hotel on South Padre Island (SPI as the locals call it). Its pretty desserted and the best time to be here. Today my coworkers and I exploited the island for seafood and later enjoyed a walk down the beach. Also managed a nap before work tomorrow. Its been a nice day.

Arrived from San Antonio on Thursday and went immediately to work. Friday was Hispanic Appreciation lunch and managed to seat myself far from the unppreciative. Tried not to send silent glares watching them "appreciate" the tacos but bemoan the people. One during the lunch asked me what a tamale was and how does one eat it. Remember how I was just raving about the hotel experience? Of course it wasn't supposed to last. I just checked my fridge, ready to snack on my seaweed salad and sushi. There was the sushi, there was the ... HUH?! The seaweed salad was missing.

Its true. Life goes on. Its been six years since the towers fell. Only six years and yet six years. Nothing I say or write will ease the pain to anyone effected by 9-11.  All is well still. Lately I haven't had the urge to blog because I sleep. Today I slept a record 12 hours. Very tired. Its not that work is kicking my butt, I'm very content in that respect, its the 4:30 am wake up time that kills me.
