RIP Quilting Bee

My newly acquired female scorpion, Quilting Bee, passed away tonight. I'm upset, because I feel like she was cheated. She didn't even have a chance to have an adventure. She just wandered around for less than two weeks and then died. I'm not even sure if she ate anything at all. I don't know why, but I get really attached to the little guys. ( Read more... )

O, that's okay. You'll get to see Monster Truck Rally, and he is fantastic. Very skittish, which means he's healthy. Just tonight, he was skittering around, shoving crickets out of his way, and sinking his creepy tentacle-like mandibles into his water dish sponge. When I reached in to change the sponge, he bum-rushed me out of nowhere from the other side of the cage and pinched me. I didn't even have time to react. It was awesome.

That was possibly the most welcome and appropriate way anyone has ever made light of my sadness. I told him, and he said, "Ho ho ho ho ho! ...what means 'monster truck'?"
