I have finally gotten around to watching Samurai Champloo. It's probably a little sad, but my first thought after finishing the series was "now I can finally read all those Mugen/Jin fics of redex's and actually get them". Such is the life of a fandom brat, I suppose. The series itself was extremely awesome though, as I'm sure everyone but me already

This will totally change the way I view this scene. How have I never considered the fairy tale before? It seems so obvious now. This was gorgeous and haunting. It's going to stick with me.

The fairytale imagery of the girl dressed in red going into the woods struck me the first time I watched the episode. I wanted to write something about that ever since, but it's taken until now for me to juxtapose it to my satisfaction with Sam's issues. Glad you enjoyed.

This is fascinating. Really like how you have mixed all the scenes together and shown other possible scenarios. The images are vividly drawn and all in all this works very well.
