I have finally gotten around to watching Samurai Champloo. It's probably a little sad, but my first thought after finishing the series was "now I can finally read all those Mugen/Jin fics of
redex's and actually get them". Such is the life of a fandom brat, I suppose. The series itself was extremely awesome though, as I'm sure everyone but me already

I adore the obvious observation that it was someone else in a red dress back in the real 1973 and she died because Sam couldn't save her.
And after being involved in a discussion about Sam's dream world and how he only has to realise he's star and director in order to influence this dream, the ending - where he even dreams that he's powerless, so convinced that he still is, even though that little boy is all grown-up now, is rather heartbreaking. I'm not 100% sure whether you intended it that way, but marvellous either way!
