Making Adjustments

Jan 10, 2012 10:56

I've been working at my new job now for almost two months. I've been slowly ramping up, trying to be careful not to over-schedule myself. My clinic works with children and teens, providing in-home therapy. As such, most of my work is in the afternoons and evenings. This is good, in so far as that's the time of day when everyone else in the family ( Read more... )

I'm itinerant enough; can I put in a bid if you decide to auction the baby off to gypsies?

I love the stage where they'll still eat what you give them. It made me feel like such a good and successful parent when he was so curious and satisfied with what ever food I gave him. Keep it up, and then later, when the Raspberry won't eat anything except one or two things and you and the Princess start dialing the auction house, remember that this is also a phase, just like before, and they feed different needs, and as long as they always have regular access to a variety of foods, they won't get malnourished. What he eats now is surely shaping his palate and will affect what he considers to be in the category of "food I eat" when he is older. My own Monkeyboy ate everything from our plates--every kind of legume, vegetable, meat, and spice--then went through a turkey sandwich and romaine lettuce phase, and is back to adventurous. Though he's a Southern boy, his favorite food is pho.

Yeah, probably. I am Micah's inner whiny little complainy-pants. But that's what LJ is for, right? Whining? :-)

A willing to try anything eater is great. He looks so adorable in the pictures that the Family posts on FB.

No Arisia for me, or Wicked Faire. They are both too big for my comfort levels.

You used to do both. Not feeling up to them these days?

I have never been to Arisia. Last year at Wicked was hard doing it on my own. Too many people and no way to ground myself. I felt like I was on 'High Alert' all the time, which gets to be very draining.

I am staying to the smaller venues, Philcon, Balicon...

I thought for sure I met you IRL for the first time at an Arisia. So it was a WF then? These events start to get fuzzy. :-)

Some days, we seriously consider selling him to the gypsies.

Heh! My mom used to tell me she was going to sell me to the gypsies when I got out of hand when I was a wee tot. Then we moved to England. And there were actually gypsies. And I would tell people that my mom was going to sell me to them.

So thank you for giving me a damn good giggle, and letting me know that my family isn't the only one to use that phrase.
