I love the stage where they'll still eat what you give them. It made me feel like such a good and successful parent when he was so curious and satisfied with what ever food I gave him. Keep it up, and then later, when the Raspberry won't eat anything except one or two things and you and the Princess start dialing the auction house, remember that this is also a phase, just like before, and they feed different needs, and as long as they always have regular access to a variety of foods, they won't get malnourished. What he eats now is surely shaping his palate and will affect what he considers to be in the category of "food I eat" when he is older. My own Monkeyboy ate everything from our plates--every kind of legume, vegetable, meat, and spice--then went through a turkey sandwich and romaine lettuce phase, and is back to adventurous. Heh! My mom used to tell me she was going to sell me to the gypsies when I got out of hand when I was a wee tot. Then we moved to England. And there were actually gypsies. And I would tell people that my mom was going to sell me to them.
So thank you for giving me a damn good giggle, and letting me know that my family isn't the only one to use that phrase.
