I know I haven't posted (except to my Most Intimate friends filter) - but there's been a lot of crap flying around in my life. I just haven't had the space to read or write on LJ. I'm hoping that the end of that is in sight now, but.. we'll have to wait and see.

I did tell ruine_ I'd post about one thing, though, so here it is.. :)

playing casually - it just seems pretty empty to me. Unfortunately I am finding this too.

Things like this always throw up questions for me about casual play. I don't have any moral objection to myself (or anyone else) playing casually - it just seems pretty empty to me

That's because for the most part (not always) but eventually it becomes that way.

I've been thinking about this topic a lot recently and felt the need to respond here although spending time collecting my thoughts etc.

I've played casually before with someone and with the lack of connection between us it was the most empty and boring scene I have ever endured. heliax has to have met someone in person before he would agree to me playing and I need to have known the person. (see my developing relationship with MV as an example). I almost wanted to play with a dom I met here recently but heliax wasn't happy about it so ultimately it wouldn't have happened and I'm quite happy with that
