The long scandinavian dark has arrived, with a quickness that shocked me. It was completely pitch-dark by five p.m. today. Weather here is definitely more exciting. Last week a wild hailstorm that left my hands swollen and covered in raised red welts. This week mostly clear, brilliantly sunny days that are warm enough that I don't want a coat, even when scampering to the grocery after dark.
