Another hurricane threatens the gulf coast, this time with Houston and Galveston as it's targets. My uncle evacuated his and my aunt's condo located on Galveston Bay yesterday (with cat in tow, of course). The cancer center that my sister is supposed to go to for treatment, located in Houston refuses to take any patients because of the hurricane. ( Read more... )

Just a little alert for those of you who know my sister, Nichola. She's going in to the hospital tomorrow for some more tests and probably to begin chemotherapy. (She's been diagnosed with Anaplastic Lymphoma, it's a very aggresive cancer and already in stage 3). She's very tired, having just gotten back from a trip to visit relatives. It's been a long day. It seems the week so far (begining Sunday evening - I didn't even get a decent weekend) is just a series of long days. When I haven't been at work I've been in class, and when I haven't been there I've been studying (and I'm already getting behind on assignments)or sleeping - and if none of the above, commuting to and fro. It's been a great day.

I did something I've been waiting to do for years... I bought a laptop :) It's a Dell Inspiron 6000. It's lower end, but for the price I paid ($734 with all the tax, shipping and a printer) I'm so excited. Poor audrey.
