This has been a rough year for me, financially and I can't justify spending the amount of money it takes to go to Otakon this year. This is the first year, since I started going in 2000, that I will not be there >_>...

This is the first year since 2000 I wasn't at my home con (AX) either. Only because I wanted to go somewhere else :P

now if you were coming to Otakon, then I would totally go :-P! Needless to say, I won't be a AWA either. I hope I can find the motivation to get this video done >_>...

Did you pre-reg? If so, then you might as well get your money's worth and commute. Gas + metro fare would then be chump change to see MELL in concert on Friday.

Commuting has always been an option for me (it's what I'm doing for about half my cons this year), but I haven't had to use it for Otakon since '95.

I always check to see who the performer is going to be and if it isn't something that I just can't miss then my heart isn't broken about not going to Otakon. I haven't been there since... '05 I think. I missed it the first couple years I haven't been but, its easier to not go now. Not to mention I don't have the money for it either :)

I've never had the money to go....always wanted to, but never have the funds. Rich and I even have costume ideas for when we can afford to go (hell, since we dress for Renfaire, I'm sure as hell dressing for Otakon whenever I get to go). Maybe some day....just like maybe some day I'll make one of the thousand AMVs I've talked about making since Anime club...Rich and I even have a list of music and anime...and the software...just not the know-how of how it actually works.
