Continuation: Five Decades Re-Cap

Dec 30, 2007 12:53

3 Months to go for my big 5-0 Birthday Celebration and I thought of finishing the entry I started back when I turned 49 about describing my life a decade at a time. I had left the last 2 decades with "to be continued". Let me repost what I wrote back then:

Wow, sometimes I think you should write a book about your life. That's a lot of growth, and I hope you're proud of it. I'm certainly proud of you, Sweetie! And I couldn't do what I'm doing now without your amazing support (on so many levels.) Thank you *

I just might write that book, one day.
I feel exactly the same way! Thank you for everything!

I'm happy to report that ColorLife magazine has found a 2nd life with the Audre Lorde Project(ALP) no less.

http://www.alp.org/colorlife/index.php

When I went to the link and started reading how the magazine got its start, tears came down my cheeks. Indeed, I still get emotional about my "child". When you found a business, there's a saying "Starting a business is the most fun you can have with your clothes on." You "birth" in a sense a dream or an idea and it's a phenomenal thing to experience as you see it materialize into reality.

I was just telling Stillwell that now as the 2008 Presidential Election begins to pick up steam in earnest, it may be a good idea to resume volunteering for ALP and get involved in writing for ColorLife again.

Thanks for your kudos!

Happy New Year!!!
