[Well! That was weird. Meredith had just finished asking the Champion to go hunt down some apostates, and now here she was waking up in a bed that definitely was not hers, in clothes that definitely were not hers. Did she even own a nightgown ( Read more... )

Cute. If this is the work of a mage of any kind, their power is beyond anything I've ever seen.

All the more reason they need to be stopped. I will not see innocents harmed because of one mage's power trip gone wrong.

Very noble of you, I'm sure, but demanding your things back so that you may smite whatever perceived evils have trapped us here isn't going to work.

It's never that easy, is it. What, then, would you suggest I do?

I can think of nothing else that could cause such an irregularity, save magic. If you can't either, keep your thoughts to yourself.

[A fellow military woman! Karin can't help feeling sympathetic.]

I'm not sure what or where the Fade is, but this is Mayfield. To be fair, I'm not certain where Mayfield is or the exact reason why we're here, but everyone not native to the place has been brought here against their will.

No sinister plot to fuel blood magic, then? What a waste of time. This is easily the oddest use of magic I've ever seen, and that's saying a lot.

Demon or mage, the threats of the Fade do not frighten me. I will not be made to stay in this place.

Whoever has summoned us here would seem to have a preference for knights.

But no, demands to release us have gone unanswered.

If they will not listen to reason, then force may prove necessary. You claim to be a knight; from where do you hail?

[A soft 'hmph'] It is easy enough to speak of, but without weapons or our usual capabilities it isn't such a simple matter, to say nothing of elusive captors.

I am from the kingdom of Britain, and a Knight of the Round Table.

Britain... I've never heard of such a nation. Still, I will take you at your word, Ser Knight. I am Knight-Commander Meredith, of Kirkwall in the Free Marches.

What the hell's a blood mage?

A mage that makes use of blood magic. Through contracts with demons they gain power over body and mind; a most grievous threat, as you can imagine. How is it that you do not know this?
