An Answer to Meghan

Originally I was going to just give up red meat. I did that for about six months before deciding to go all vegetarian. So I stopped eating poultry products of all kinds. Now, keep in mind this was all for health reasons not because I think it's wrong to kill animals for sustenance. So then I realized I could not for the life of me stop eating ( Read more... )

First, I love how your mood always says horny. Awesome. Thank you for answering me. I've read and seen a lot of stuff about the treatment of animals for sustenance, and I don't think there is any way at all that I can go back to eating meat. I seriously cried when I saw and read the stuff (peta.org is defintely not my favorite site. Too depressing!). I still eat fish and stuff but I don't really think anything about it. I try to categorize it by what my emotional attachment could be toward the animals. A cow, pig, pigeon, dog, chicken--those could all be emotional attachment for me. Fish, I can't get close enough to them to become attached. It's stupid I know. It's not a health thing for me at all (I've got to be the most unhealthy vegetarian out there). I just geet really sad seeing what they do to the animals. I'm a dork. But I really respect your choices and I'm glad I got your reasoning for it because I was at a loss for a while.

I could never give up red meat. I think that if you want to be a vegetarian it's your business. What a lot of people fail to realize, as my girlfriend Alison so eloquently put it only 2 to 3 minutes ago, if a cow had to eat you to survive, it would not hesitate. Animals are amazing because they do what is necessary to survive. Their are no consequences in the mind of a cow. A lot of people say that we are no longer a primitive culture and that we have little need for killing to feed ourselves. The fact that I like to bury my teeth ina medium-rare steak does not make me primitive (and yes, I know nobody said so). I guess this isn't coming out very well, maybe due to my extreme lack of sleep. "We're all part of the great circle of life," at least according to Mufasa. "When we die, our bodies become the grass; the antelope eat the grass." I suppose my point is, we eat to survive, they eat to survive. In the long run I guess lettuce was alive at one point. Just because a blade of grass doesn't have distinguishable facial characteristics ( ... )

Oh, and the Lion King reference was CLEARLY and DEFINITELY a joke. Have I ever met Meghan? I am not sure (no photo).

"You ate your heart out, I'd eat it too." (Alison bought me this CD for my B-Day... isn't she lovely?

She must be lovely to be buying you Imperial Teen CDs!!! Rock! And no, you've never met Meghan. As far as your opinion goes, I agree with it. Red meat just isn't very good for you, and that's the entire reason I gave it up. Plain and simple. I believe I expressed that in my original post though.

Yeah, I was just rambling. Sorry about that. I got a new tattoo. It's pretty cool.
