Is damn straight! an appropriate response? I can't tell you how many of these wastes of flesh I've had to deal with over the years, and though this was your vent, it summed up my own anger wonderfully. Well done.

i really feel like i've compartmentalized. this makes me so mad and i know he can grow boils all over his body for all i care.

but it doesn't even affect me apart from when i see him.
