FANFIC FOR JAPAN QUAKE RELIEF

Mar 14, 2011 11:28

UPDATE: I'm also offering ONE fic with a minimum of 3000 words on the help Japan community. Starting bid is the same as the cost of one of my 2000 word slots below, and the more the fic goes for, the more words I will write! You can bid on my offer here!

I don't know if there's a Help Haiti-like fan auction going on for Japan relief yet, but really even if there is, auctioning off one story doesn't seem like enough, not to me. Sendai is Sage Date's hometown, and even though he's fictional, my affection for the region is not. It's a place I've researched, written about, and generally fangirled over for about twelve years now. The hardship faced by its people now is unimaginable. I don't have a lot of money to donate, but I need to do something. Maybe fictional people can, in some way, generate help for real people in real need.

So here, then, is the deal. I have ten slots. Each slot represents a story with a minimum of 2000 words. If you buy one of these slots with a donation, I will write anything you want. Granted, you'll probably get a better story if you ask me for something I know, but I'm willing to abuse Google and Wikipedia and YouTube to generate a recognizable semblance of anything. The price for one of these slots is a minimum donation of $10 (800 yen) to Japan's Earthquake relief efforts. (It doesn't matter what agency you donate to, so long as the funds are devoted to Japan relief efforts. I recommend donating directly to the Japanese Red Cross by using this link.)

To claim these slots, I need to see a screencap of your donation confirmation page, either linked in the comments here or emailed to me at tenshi@bishink.org. (For privacy, you can black out your personal info, though I will not keep the screencap and will only use it to see that you've donated.) If you don't want to have your name published in this list with your donation amount, I can list you anonymously below. I will keep track of donors in a private list. Please donate as much as you can! $10 is just the bare minimum, as I would love to create a $100 total minimum donation for ten stories.

And then all you have to do is tell me what you want. I've got a partial list of fandoms at the bottom of this post, in case you don't know what to ask for. Any pairing, any subject, any theme, it's all up for grabs. You can even ask for some original fic from me, if you like.

Q: But what if I don't like fanfic?
A: I can do other commissions for a minimum ten dollar donation. Ask me about custom jewelry, ritual/hoodoo oils and incenses, fanart, doll clothes, photostories, etc.

Q: What if all the slots fill up before I send you my screencap?
A: I will honor donations made within 24 hours of the last slot being taken, even if it means going over my ten-slot limit.

Q: How fast will I get my fanfic?
A: Please allow me at least two weeks. It probably won't take that long, but I do have a full-time job to juggle and my speed depends on the response I get.

Q: Are you willing to write about [insert kink or pairing here]?
A. If it gets help to one person in Japan a little faster, or if it feeds one extra person or buys one extra blanket, I will write about it. My personal tastes and the dignity of imaginary people are nothing compared to the needs of the people affected by this disaster. If you want to see an underage Squall Leonheart in a maid costume getting raeptimes from an anthropomorphic radish, then that's what I'll write. This isn't about my artistic pride, here.

Q: What if I want more than one fic?
A: It is a minimum of $10 per slot, and can be one donation. (for example, two slots = one $20 donation.) But if you are going to request more than 2 slots, please wait a little after your first requests for other people to have a chance at some slots, especially if you are only buying slots for the minimum donation.

Q: Can I see all the fics?
A: I will post all the fics publically unless requested otherwise by the purchaser, either here or on a dedicated webpage.

Q: I want to offer fics too! Can I use your code/post/info?
A: Yes! Feel free to post a similar offer for yourself. I only ask that you include a link to this post: http://tenshi-no-korin.livejournal.com/258820.html --so that people can come here and bid on fic slots as well. The more customers, the more money we raise for relief efforts. (And also, nobody else deserves the blame for the radish comment.)

Other questions? Just let me know!

Please repost this offer to your friendslist, even if you can't afford to make a donation. If I get enough response I am willing to do a second round. Thanks everyone!
