I got to listen to two of the younger staff members whine about one of the more senior staff members today. Sure, he is a know-it-all and I can see how he would be quite annoying. This internship really has been a blessing. God knew what I needed and even though I really wanted that internship at Children's it was not where I was supposed to be. It was full time and I was going to be an intern. I really don't feel like an intern at ZJS. I feel more like a freelancer. And they have given me a project and are letting me go ( Read more... )

Today I worked on a mock-up for a portfolio to give perspective clients. I designed the label for the folder, created a company profile, formatted some case studies and bios. Dorothy: Well, I - I think that it - it wasn't enough to just want to see Uncle Henry and Auntie Em - and it's that - if I ever go looking for my heart's desire again, I won't look any further than my own back yard. Because if it isn't there, I never really lost it to begin with! Is that right?

I went in today the most confident I have gone into the first day of any job. And why not? I know what I'm doing and they know I know what I am doing. They pretty much just turned me loose on the first project, which is a rebranding effort for ZJS itself.
