*cough* Hi! I like the idea of a fun/inexpensive venue. I mean, the one we used in Toronto wasn't bad, but it was kinda prissy, fairly expensive, and I wasn't impressed with the food. I loved the pub-type place we found for the slashers' meetup, but the HD meetup venue... it just wasn't my favorite. I like the idea of Navy Pier. The only thing is that I don't know if it'll be conducive to talking. Maybe go around there, and then convene to a coffee-shop type place in the immediate vicinity. Are there any coffee shops like that?

I liked the fact that there were origami cranes everywhere in the Toronto H/D meet-up place, but it was pretty expensive, and weirdly eclectic. I thought Navy Pier was a good idea firstly because there will be something for everyone to enjoy, food-wise and mostly free entertainment-wise. Also, instead of just sitting around getting to know the four people seated around you, we will be walking around, mingling, and generally wreaking havoc ;) Hopefully nobody will fall into Lake Michigan! There is a really good coffee place a few blocks from Navy Pier, and it's also near the hotel. The website says seating for 30 on the main floor, but there's also another level. I'll call and ask if 10-15 more would be a big deal. =)

Is there a place outside that we can takeover for a picnic-type thing? So long as it's not ridiculously hot out, that could be an option - and we wouldn't need to worry about trying to find a bunch of empty seats grouped together in the cafe you mentioned. I loved the picnic meet-ups we had at Sectus :D

Also, I'd be more than happy to help out! Things for goodie bags, and if we do a drawing like Fi organized at Prophecy, something for that as well :D

That's a really good idea... and there is a PERFECT place for that basically across the street from the hotel! Millenium Park!

It's kind of an outdoor concert space, but when there isn't a concert it is open to the public for walking through or for picnics. It's really quite amazing, a place like that right in the middle of the tall buildings. Definitely at option!

I'd love to do a drawing like Fi did at Prophecy, so anything you could contribute would be just lovely! There'll be more on that kind of stuff as we get closer to the actual date... haha

I'm liking the Millenium Park idea more and more. Here, look. Even if it was super hot outside, there are fountains that kids/anybody can run though, as well as the gigantic picnic area. There is a Bennigans right across the street, too, which would be a simple and affordable place to get food, if we were to just go to Millenium Park. Or people it could be a bring your own lunch type of deal, to make it more picnic like. Once we get a few more ideas going, there shall be a poll. =)

I know! I think I squeed so loudly that I might have startled her. *blushes* I'll see if they have any other items with the rainbow lightning bolt too. The last time I asked about the pins he'd not seen them before.
