Hey I don't have anything new to report or any interesting observations or anything, so instead I will post scans of things I have not really drawn recently. Boss!
MY RUNAWAYS OTP IS XAVIN/KAROLINA. I feel we might have covered this, but I love all their issues-- the whole struggle to have a human relationship without the literal humanity. There's just so much weird there, but they both want so much to make it work and I just love seeing them together awwww.
Also everyone kinda ships Chase/Gert. SOB. SOB. SOB. I love bickering couples, so!
I have the weirdest fandoms ever. Not only are they like all obscure, but there's not a lot of overlap either. WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME?
WE MIGHT HAVE COVERED THIS, BUT THAT WAS A WHILE AGO, AND IT'S GOOD TO HEAR THAT AGAIN. HUHU. B)
Whenever I see you talk about comics I want to read them all. But there are so gd many and I am shit at getting into new series, which becomes five times worse when the specific series is an American comic because FFFFF Y SO LONG WITH SO MANY GD SPINOFFS GAH. I have no chance of getting into any video game fandom ever because I own no consoles and have the gaming skills of an armless seven year old.
Yeah, comics are intimidating to get into, I think-- you just have to start with a random arc and keep reading, consulting Wikipedia and all of that. After awhile you get a feel for things, but it's an awful big plunge to make. The SAD thing is that there are lots of comics I read that I NEVER talk about, because I know one reads them or is remotely interested. MMMM. But yeah, I suck, my favorite characters are like c-list guys without their own titles. WOE.
The Terra art looks great! I can't wait to see this layout. The rest of the sketches look awesome, too. I love looking at people's art sketches, it's like taking a peek into another world. ♥
And hmm for the meme, what about Young Avengers? :D
I sort of ship Kate with everyone? Because I love Kate. What I like in couples is a tension, the whole back-and-forth, which obviously really really ties into it. Kate/Eli is probably the biggest, but I like Kate/Tommy too :) Also I am convinced that a teamup with Black Widow would be both thematic and badass, but also really hot.
Everyone kinda ships Teddy + Billy for the obvious reasons. They're very cute together and it feels really organic, you know?
I would also like to see a Kang/Cassie/Kristoff Vernard triangle. Because I am a nerd. The whole Kang/Cassie thing sorta game outa nowhere? I would probably like it more if there was more development-- the stuff in the Vision YA:Presents issue was interesting, but robots are kinda weird for me.
Thanks for the comments about my art :D It is always interesting to see how people draw.
I love your picture of Terra! I might snatch it and colour it in later if I need to procrastinate but don't feel like making my own drawing. Oh, yeah, and if that's cool with you.
Did I even really mention Harry Potter? But, okay.
HP is one of those huge fandoms with millions of characters which doesn't really lend itself to my personal tastes. I don't have anything I really ship, persay, but there aren't many things I'm opposed to. Except, teacher/student is always creepy and so is twincest. I liked the canon stuff-- Harry/Ginny, Ron/Hermione, but I've got no real opinion on the crazy shipwars except "lol" and "Harmonia just makes me think of Nash Latkje." One relationship I did really like was the one between Arthur and Molly. I like domesticity when it's not just an excuse for weird pregnancy fic, but an actual developed relationship between people that's just made to last?
One thing I do hate is hurt/comfort, but this applies to all fandoms :) But I'm betting I could find a lot of it for HP.
And sure, I'd love to see what you come up with if you do decide to color it. :D Thanks!
Thank you :) I need to practice more, I always get lazy and don't color my things in.
A) That's a lot, and I ship a lot of things-- but I'll just talk about my #1 OTP of forever, Locke/Celes. Which is a vaguely canonical Final Fanasy VI pairing, featuring operas, swordfights and a fair dose of necrophilia. To some degree it's one of those Dashing Rogue/Ice Princess dynamics that I always find fun, because both of the characters challenge each other nicely, but more than that... It's really: Locke is so bloody determined to be a hero and save the girl that he forgets all the weights and meanings behind those actions. He's the dangers of chivalry writ large, in a sense, and I love that his character flaw is something traditionally a virtue. Whereas Celes has been trained to be this uncaring automaton since birth. She doesn't really think of herself as a person, much less as a woman, and her whole struggle is to find out what she really thinks, to discover her own values. It's his determination to save her and her determination
