princess jessica is perfectly capable of saving herself from the dragons that frequently kidnap her, but that doesn't stop sir jay from trying to help.
"Yo, wassup? I'm here to rescue you! ... And stuff."
The knight trudges into the dragon's cave sometime around noon and tosses an empty pizza box into the dragon's dustbin. He's dragging an enormous sword behind him - it's easily twice his size, though that isn't a surprise, given his tiny stature - and he appears to have tattooed his armour. He removes his helmet, running a hand through his mohawk and grinning proudly. Princess Jessica is not amused.
"Sir Jay Park at your service, here to slay one fearsome and ferocious damsel-kidnappin' dragon. But damn, you are beautiful. I just wanna know your name."
"Princess Jessica," she says, and fixes him with a very disapproving glare. "But you do realise that I've already slain the dragon and freed myself? About an hour ago, actually." She points to the still-smoking pile of dragon in the corner, a dagger stuck through its heart with frightening accuracy. The sight is gruesome.
"Oh. Huh." Sir Jay blinks. "Damn. I would have been here a lot sooner if Sir Dok2 and Sir Cha Cha Malone didn't insist on stopping for food. It was some real good pizza, though. Anyway, y'all okay? All your limbs still attached?"
He peers at her curiously, inspecting. He inspects her backside a few seconds too long. Her glare intensifies.
"Yes, no thanks to you. Now if you don't mind, I'll be heading back to my castle." She scoops up several handfulls of the dragon's hoarded jewels, putting them in her pockets, and heads for the cave entrance. Jay follows her, still dragging his gigantic sword and frowning.
"Wait - I came all the way out here, didn't I? Ain't I at least gonna get a kiss for my services?"
"I still have another dagger," Jessica warns him.
He wilts. "Well ... aight. Sorry I couldn't be more help. But still, I think it's pretty cool you slayed the dragon yourself. And you really are pretty. So ... nice to meet you, I guess."
The small smile he gives her is kind of cute, Jessica has to admit. She sighs, glancing one more time at the crestfallen knight before giving in. With a roll of her eyes, she leans in and presses a soft kiss to his cheek.
"There. Are you happy now?"
Jay blushes slightly, the stupid grin returning to his face. "Yeah. Real happy. Thanks. Uh, maybe I'll see you around sometime?"
"I wouldn't count on it," says Jessica, and sets off in the direction of Jung Castle without a backwards glance.
(But he does. Being a princess, it turns out, tends to involve monthly dragon kidnappings. And the next time she's snatched up by one, he ignores Sir Dok2 and Sir Cha Cha's Mexican food cravings and rushes to the rescue straight away.
And this time, she's a bit more forthcoming with his kiss.)
