Terry is feeling better

Feb 03, 2007 14:21

It's funny how when you're down you feel like you'll never be happy again, even though you know rationally that you can't possibly be sad for the rest of your life. There's something about emotion that just overrules everything else, no matter how logical you are usually. I think it's what makes us human, and it's a little scary, because emotion ( Read more... )

I hope you're right about it not being possible to be sad for the rest of your life. Right now it looks like a distinct possibility for me. I could use some cheering up. Maybe the dance will do it. Though probably not as I'll be going all by myself.

I think it's not possible. Time heals all wounds. Well, I can't speak for everyone, but most wounds.

Do you play any instuments? I think a few of us are having a get-together in the music room. You're welcome to come along.

Little known fact, I actually play the guitar. Dad found one and keeps it hidden in his office. Mum doesn't know he has it, and he doesn't know I play it. And the boys know nothing, per usual. I'm not a prodigy or anything, but I enjoy it. I'd love to come along.

And, if I can read a calender, mine is right after yours...

Why don't you put together a band for the dance?

Bit soon, isn't it? But yes, I could do that. I have been talking to Luna about forming a duet but that was mostly for a laugh. I'll see what she thinks.

Why? Are you interested?

Yeah - I play the guitar. I'm pretty interested.

Ok! Should probably advertise. Do proper auditions, and all that. I don't know anyone else who plays the guitar thoug- oh wait, Ginny does.

I'm glad that you're feeling better, Terry. And I hope I wasn't the reason why you were feeling down before. Don't hate me.

Yeah. Since Hermione insisted that it wasn't a big deal did you just use that as an excuse to blow Hogsmeade off?

Going to the dance?

Look, I'm sorry that I cancelled our date. But I said some really horrible things to Hermione and I really needed to patch it up. And...I suppose it doesn't matter anymore.

Dance? What dance?

The dance that Lavender is planning the Saturday after Valentine's Day.

Wow, I never normally have good ideas. Thankyou!

I would offer to sing because it's fun but Seamus says I'm really awful, and if he thinks so imagine what people who aren't dating me would think?

Aw, that's kind of a mean thing for him to say. Perhaps he's just saying that because if you sing then you won't have time to dance with him.

I'm taking requests. Got any?

I can sing - but I don't think I'll try-out. I'd much rather dance...

How about some old classic Muggle stuff? I prefer that to Wizarding music, at any rate. God, Warbeck is absolutely awful!

Like, Frank Sinatra covers?

Frank Sinatra works, though I don't know how the younger years will take to it. It's very much slow-dancing inclined, and you can't really slow dance if you don't have a significant other.

I've been thinking about the music side of things for the Valentine's Dance. I can play the piano and I was thinking anytime you need a break I can play slow songs or whatever works best.

What do you think?

That sounds excellent.

Maybe it was a good idea to place that ad in Ron's column.

Do you wish to hear if I can actually play? And I suppose it would pay to work out a set, like after say three or more songs I take over for a bit or, well whatever works best.

Well, I imagine you wouldn't offer to play in front of everyone if you couldn't. You don't look delusional to me.

That works. Three songs and then a swap over? I'm sure Lavender wouldn't mind so much if it was all informal.
