Watching TV tonight, during a commercial for a current NBC drama:

Dad: This is what they call a steak show.
Me: A steak show?
Dad: Yeah. I rarely watch Medium because it's never well-done.

What can you say to that?

I'd like to know how your dad comes up with those. My theories:

A) he comes up with them on the spot.
B) he thinks them up over several days/weeks, then waits for the right opportunity to unleash them
C) he hears them other places and remembers them so he can repeat them later.

I have listed them in the order from most to least likely.

Yeah, I don't know either. I suspect that one was completely off-the-cuff, though. That's the feeling I got.
