So I've now listened to the new Dream Theater album three times, and I'm not really sure what to think. I believe that James LaBrie has finally succumbed to the peril of all prog rock singers; he simply cannot do it anymore, at least not up to his old standard of excellence. So apparently Dream Theater released an album recently, and I had no idea. So I picked it up, but because we were on our way home from Kent, I have thus far only listened to the first 25 minutes...which is to say, the first two songs!

So at this point I own well over half of the entire Bob Dylan catalog and there aren't a whole lot of albums of his that I feel I really need to own. In fact there is only one album I can honestly say that I do not own that I really should, but I've taken steps to make that happen. I'm considering writing a book. It will be completely self indulgent, largely void of interest from the general public and be so full of random thoughts that it will be difficult to find an audience. It would be part how-to guide, part reference book, part comedy and combine so many varied themes and i'm sure it will never get published. That said ( Read more... )
