I really do feel sick to my stomach. I mean of course 91 people killed is horrible, but it's difficult not to look on that as just a number. I mean you hear about numbers killed in Iraq or Afghanistan all the time and, after a while, it's just statistics. And many were civilians too, just innocent people going about their lives.

When driving to the station on a morning, dad and I usually listen to the news. One day this week it said that an actor called Robert Culp had passed on. Well now, it seems I face the prospect of the end of my holiday and it still feels like that unstoppable force. You know, I just got through with The Wire, and what a TV show it was. I would say the ending is one of the best for a show in that it was utterly in keeping with its own sense of how things should be.
