Weekend was excellent. Lots of hardcore sleep. Saw Jennifer on Saturday, sat and talked politics and religion and such. And just random fandom bullshit. It was overly enjoyable. Didn't do much chocolate and girltalk, but I was happy despite this. I also got my hair cut on Saturday. It's shorter and much better looking. Also went clothes shopping. ( Read more... )

No worries, Chaz isn't killed off in any of the TPBs that I have, at least -- I can't promise anything about the ones I haven't read myself, but I seem to remember seeing him in some single issues that came out within the past few years, so he may still be there. But the only similarity he bears to the movie character of the same name is driving a cab and chauffering Constantine around without saying a word about charging him for the fare.

They deliberately cast Tilda Swinton as Gabriel I guess because she's got the whole sexy androgyny thing going.

Gavin Rossdale -- that name was vaguely familiar when I read it in the credits, but I didn't remember from where. What band was he in?

First off: Angry about Chas not being a super cute cockass teenager. Oh well, I can live with happy memories of the fucking kickin rad movie.

Second: HOT HOT HOT TILDA SWINTON!!! She's also going to be playing the White Witch in "The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe" and after seeing her in Constantine, she'll pull it off BEAUTIFULLY.

Third: Gavin Rossdale was guitarist/singer/frontman for the band Bush that did well in the alternative rock scene that swept the nation in the early 90's to late 90's and even into early 2000 - 2001. Also, he is engaged/married to Gwen Stefani of No Doubt fame. (They were famous around the same time.)

Bush became inactive in 2001, and No Doubt became inactive a few years back too. Gwen Stefani is now doing solo work, and frankly, I really like some of the stuff she's done.

OMFG. I know too much about early to late 90's alterna-rock.

I went hitting the IMDb a bit earlier to check and indeed I have not seen Swinton in anything at all before Constantine -- though I knew she'd be in the Narnia movie because someone else on my friends list is a major fan of hers (and really wishes she'd played Trelawney in PoA).

Bush I'd actually heard of (and Gwen Stefani and No Doubt, though I didn't recall he and she were an item) -- got one of their albums in cassette format, actually, though I never ever listen to it anymore. Not a fan of the Pearl Jam clone sound. Just wasn't sure it was him because I remembered the Bush front man's name was "Gavin something-or-other" and Gavin's a pretty common first name in the UK.
