Title: Reflections
Rating: K
Characters: Ratchet
T-Realm: Bayverse
Summary:  “So, this is snow.  Not as dangerous as Bumblebee reported it to be.”
Prompt #1 Scenario: first snow on an alien world

As the year drew to a close, Ratchet reflected on everything that had changed.  Since making landfall on earth, the humans had been eager - almost fanatically desperate - about catching up with their newest neighbor’s technological capabilities.  Sadly, as advanced as NEST’s amenities had become, they were nothing like the ARK’s amenities, only crude makeshift devices made out of substandard material,

Or so Ratchet believed, having found nothing about human inventions - or their world in general - worth considering as a replacement for all they had lost on Cybertron.  They had lost everything in this last desperate bid to keep the All Spark from the Decepticions, and had, in the process, lost the war.  Yet, the battles continued and warriors fell trying to protect this life-filled planet.  All for what?

All for nothing!

Ratchet stepped outside the desert base, no longer wondering what the weather would be like - for the last six months, it had been hot and dry, with limited cloud cover.  He left the cover of the building, and stepped into something that crunched as it gave underneath his feet.

The chanteuse medic looked at the ground.  White?  He looked up and around.  On every side, the sand had been covered in this flaky material.

Prompt #2: A Glacier River

Jazz stood at the edge of the frozen stream.  “Jazz,” One of the mechs that had already crossed over, beckoned again.  “Why do you wait?”

“It’s not my time,” the silver saboteur replied, looking back, where Ironhide, Arcee, Ratchet, and others would emerge one orn.

“It is,” the white speaker insisted.  “If it weren’t, would you be seeing me?”

“Or any of us?” asked his yellow companion.  “I better not be seeing my brother anytime soon.”

“Sunstreaker,” Jazz turned back to face the other side of the icy divide.  “If you’re expecting me to relay your comments to the still-living Sideswipe, that is one task I cannot do.”

“Come on, Jazz - the party can’t start without you.”  The white figure frowned.  “I’d be very disappointed if this party is one that you miss.”

“Prowler, I hate to disappoint you,” Jazz said, not realizing his immobile peds had stepped onto the glacier river.  “But I’m pretty sure there are plenty of parties that I’ve not been invited to.”

“And yet you crashed most of them,” the white mech reached out to help the newcomer up.  “Welcome to the All-Spark, where all will become one.”

T-Realm: Bayverse
Summary:  Rhetorical questions have obvious answers.
Prompt #3 under the bed

There were times Bumblebee wished he was smaller - not often, not frequently, and only recently, but this was one of those times.

“Where are they?”  Sam Witwicky growled as he rummaged his room.  “Where are my stupid shoes?”  He stood on tiptoe to see the top of his bookcase, in case his misplaced footwear had, somehow, landed up high.

Bumblebee stood outside Sam’s jumbled room, using his sensors to scan the contents, instead of simply visually searching as Sam was forced to do.

“Come on!  This is the second pair this week!”  Sam groaned, digging his hands into his scalp and hair.  “Where did they wander off to?”

“Try under the bed.”  Bumblebee suggested, finding something that registered on his sensors.

Sam gave his car a look.  “What would they be doing under the bed?”   He asked, deciding not to reprimand his Autobot friend about standing on the lawn, and peering into his second-story bedroom. There was a reason his folks had wanted a multistory building - and it wasn’t for the views from the second-story windows.

“Keeping everything else that gets shoved there company.”  Bumblebee answered.

Title: Accelerated Learning
Rating: Teens
Genre/Warnings: one swear word
Characters: Ironhide, Robert Epps
T-Realm: “I swear, Optimus - I did not teach Sergeant Epps how to put the fear of Primus in the humans!”
Summary: Giving the new batch of NEST recruits the dime-tours did have some perks.
Prompt #4 Scenario: A character learns a new skill

Robert Epps led the group of four over to the black GMC Topkick.  “And this is Ironhide.  Say hi to the new kids on the block, Hide.”

The black Topkick seamlessly shifted forms.  Where a truck had once waited, now stood a thirty-foot tall metal soldier.  “Want to see my cannons?”

Robert was the only human that had not backed up when the truck simply … changed.

“Dude!”  James Morton held his modified rifle aimed at the huge apparition.  “What is that thing?”

“That?”  Robert carefully did not smile as he answered the question.  “That is Ironhide, one of the Cybertronians fighting to protect humanity.”

Ironhide snorted.  “Can we get to the fun part, now?”  Not waiting for an answer, he strolled towards the firing range.  “Blasted targets can’t even survive target practice.”

Robert waved Dan Gore and the others forward, where they could watch as Ironhide proceeded to blow up every object set aside for demolition.  “And this, is why we do not ever want to piss off our allies.  Clear?”

The small group of humans walked away, leaving a bemused Ironhide behind.

Prompt #5 Challenge: choose a fic that you've already written and choose one prompt from this Master List. Write a sequel to your first fic based on the prompt you've chosen.  (07 April 2012 = Cybertronians aren't evil - just nervous and armed.)

“Hunting, us?”  Ratchet asked, already thinking of various hiding places.  He wasn’t a warrior capable of guerilla fighting, nor did he want to live like that.  “Why would the humans attack us?”

::Some see all Cybertronians as a threat to their world- to them, there is no distinction between Autobot or Decepticon:: Optimus used the untraceable comm. Link to talk to all his surviving troops.  ::If you can escape this world, go!::

“I’m NOT leaving until after Brains, Wheelie, and the others are recovered.”  Ratchet dug in his heels.  “Save it Prime - if they need medical attention, no one else will be able to provide it.”

:: … Very well, Old friend.  Do your best to remain under the humans radar.  No one is invincible::

“Oh, I will.”  Ratchet responded, remembering the once-long ago conversation about how even the biggest and strongest ships were laid low by the smallest and simplest of creatures.  Perhaps the derelicts would provide adequate coverage from the satellites?

On the other side of the planet, Sideswipe snarled as he gallantly fought a loosing battle against Cemetary Wind.  Not to harm humans before, was he?  Well, times had changed, and now was the time to fight back!  The only way these murdering scum would take him out would be in deactivated pieces!

Prompt #6 - (31 March 2012 A Picture (or the title of the pic ;) Earthshine a.k.a. Moon’s Ashen Glow

“Why is it called ‘The dark side of the moon’?  It does not stay in perpetual darkness, being illuminated by the sun on a regular basis.”

Robert Epps stared.

“What?”

“Nothing, Ratchet.  I guess I expected a different question - either that, or you using your ever-present connection to the internet to look up the answer.”

“Unlike some humans I could name, I have learned that the answers available for free do not necessarily tell the whole truth - or may be placed there to separate those unwilling to do their own hands-on-research, from dedicated students who dig deeper.”

Epps shook his head.  “The dark side of the moon is the side no human has ever seen.”

“But how would … oh, right.  A rotational orbit that is equal to its revolution orbit, and the lack of colonies beyond earth.  Have your people not done manned space explorations?”

“Only to the Moon - all other trips have been done by drones.
