hey brittany! i agree with you on how i think he wanted to show people more what vietnam was like and not how it is just in movies. I think that so many people watch the war movies and think that that's all war is about. With this book people take a little different view of the war, and see that it isnt always about the blood and guts and shooting and stuff like that. thats all for now! :-)

Hey girlie....I liked your prompt but as i was reading i was wondering:The reason O'brien wrote this story was to honor the men that served in vietnam. he wanted to show the common people of america what happens in war, not only the things shown in war movies. that may be true but at the same time I don't know how he could write write this story to honor the men if it wasn't true?!? Maybe I'm wrong i don't know? Other wise i agree the war was what he knew and was used to so it would make sense to write about something you know about instead of pulling it out of thin air!!!! But I suppose after so many stories of the same sort I'd get bored of it!!! But anyways that's all for now. Later Days!!!! Sammi<3
