The town I live in recently put red reflector strips on the post of every stop sign so that you shouldn't fail to notice this big red reflective thing in front of you.

Other towns have their own craziness of overdoing things.

And while not a real sign, one of my favorites...

Nice. But take a look at that "My Mommy Works Here" sign. It might be an artifact of the rendering, but I'm mighty suspicious of those neatly rectangular patches of slightly darker background just framing each word.

They may have cleaned up that picture, but I've actually seen that one.
