So, I realise that people have totally done this before, but for some reason I hadn't ever considered asking google maps for ridiculous directions.. such as, say, from my house in Western Australia to Seattle.

Some randomness, as of 2008-07-14 13:37 (heh).

I found that you can block-copy using screen, (like Ctrl+V does in vim). After you start a copy (Ctrl+a, '[', then Enter to mark the start of the block), you press 'c' to mark the left-most edge of the block, and move the cursor a bit, then 'C' to mark the right-most edge, and you can select a ( Read more... )

I find that I say, very often, "I should get around to watching/reading ". There are so many movies, TV shows and books that I know would interest me, or that are at least on "must-see/read" lists. Well, I'm back home now, in Perth, and it's currently about 17deg C (63deg F). Back to reality, as they say. I realise I've been kind of lax with updating since the 18th, but I had been constantly uploading my photos, at least. This post is just kind of a summary of my trip, as well as catching up on (re-living? :P) the last parts of my holiday.

Washington

Wheeeee, so I'm now in Seattle! Got here just after 9pm on Friday, though it didn't really seem like it since the sun was only just setting. It's taking readjusting like I needed for daylight savings in Perth in summer.
