Wheee, so, I've been in Honolulu since about 11am Friday morning, visiting some relatives. It's been good so far.
The flight

Watched the Four Corners thing on human rights in China.. it wasn't anything that I hadn't read/heard about before, but it really did just make me feel ... simultaneously angry, sad, depressed, helpless.. and also no small amount of admiration for those that continue struggling for a better state of affairs.

So, I finally got around to playing and finishing (several times) the game Portal. It was a short little game, a "first-person puzzler" that I'd heard a lot about. Even the Zero Punctuation "The Orange Box" review couldn't actually complain about the game.

Wow. So, another couple of friends who have planned to get married at the end of this year (November 1st), discovered today when just confirming things with the wedding/reception venue, that the venue has lost their booking, and booked someone else into that day. That's some major suckage right there for somebody.

So, there's this spider that's been just hanging about, doing its thing outside my house for over a week. No-one else seems as freaked or fascinated by it as me. Anyway, just wondered whether anyone knows what sort of spider it is?
