What am I?

Where exactly do I stand in terms of race? I walk down the street and I am perceived to be a black man. That is what my exterior shows. My skin color, my hair type, my facial features... all are qualities of me that tell others that I am a black man. But am I? it's sad to hear people STILL have to go through shit like this, especially when being judged by their own race. it's rediculous.

Aww. I understand your struggle. Just keep your head up and don't let anyone knock you down. Those looks you get are from people who have issues with themselves and you don't want to deal with people who project their own insecurities onto you--no matter what race they are.

Preach on brotha!! From young, I seperated myself from thinking I was like African-Americans. We are NOT African-Americans Johann or should we strive to live up to THEIR expectations. We are AFRO-CARIBBEANS, born in the Caribbean! FIU has tons of us and it's nice to be around other Caribbean Blacks and not shoddy African-Americans. I totally understand how you feel and even sometimes black people born in America to Caribbean parents conform to African-American standards and ask why do I talk white. I don't care about them because I'll be going somewhere in life with my proper speech while they work at Mc-fucking-Donald's!! We're a different breed Johann because we are brought up with something called home training.
