Scholarship

So, first things first, some excellent news: I won a national scholarship for my PhD! Even better, I won a more prestigious (and lucrative) scholarship than I was expecting. It's $35,000 a year, for 3 years (so like, $105,000 total, tax-free 0.o). Plus, Dalhousie pays my tuition for the first two years as a sort of extra award for getting the ( Read more... )

After all this money stuff going on, I'm glad you have definite scholarship info now...and even more than you thought. Holy crap. I'm just so happy for you. Yeah, it'll definitely make things a lot easier. They were like, a month late in notifying everyone about this, so I'm happy to have finally heard (and actually kind of surprised I won the big one!).

I didn't think they gave away scholarships that huge in Canada! lol Jesus, I know Dalhousie is expensive, but that must pretty much cover it, eh?

Yeah, it's kind of crazy, isn't it? At any rate, the money is more to pay for living expenses and stuff like that. Normally graduate schools pay for all of your tuition if they let you in anyway. It's kind of like a salary, more like. Definitely the most yearly income I've had so far, lol.

Wait...so what you're saying is...not only is your school getting paid for...but you're also getting paid to go to school.
