I'm acclimatizing to Dalhousie and our new place in Halifax. It's hard to believe that we've been here over a month now. The time is going so quickly. In any event, Dalhousie is a quirky little school filled with friendly people who work too much and love Macintosh computers. Okay. The second draft of my thesis is DONE. I'm going to submit it to my committee on Monday (if all goes well with the printing!). Then I defend on July 6th, make the revisions on the third draft based on those comments, and I'm done ( Read more... )

So, first things first, some excellent news: I won a national scholarship for my PhD! Even better, I won a more prestigious (and lucrative) scholarship than I was expecting. It's $35,000 a year, for 3 years (so like, $105,000 total, tax-free 0.o). Plus, Dalhousie pays my tuition for the first two years as a sort of extra award for getting the ( Read more... )
